Teach us to love

“In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures.”

~ Kahlil Gibran ~

Lord, help us see each other for exactly who we are

Then have the courage to embrace what we see

Sharp edges and all

Help us find all the ties that bind our hearts

Pour ourselves into strengthening them

Fasten us together

Give us steady hands to wipe tears

Biceps to squeeze one another

Strong abs for belly laughs

Expand our hearts to contain each other

Our minds to more fully understand

Grace to accept

Lord, grant us the wisdom to appreciate

Every moment we have together

And the moment to say good-bye
